Disappointment

It was awesome, but it wasn't as great as it could have been. Doubly my fault - I didn't change my bus ticket soon enough to arrive early in DC to help with the volunteer project, so I didn't get to meet Speaker Pelosi. I also didn't buy a ball ticket, so I didn't get to go. I also got stuck in the wrong crowd for 3.5 hours, so when I finally got in the gate, I was stuck way in the back behind a tree and there was very little audio.

Next time, hopefully I'll start earlier and know more ppl so that I can be closer and do more.

It was amazing though. The moment, the man, and the message. What a great time to be an American.

Fun and excitement

So I'm at my friend Mychael's friend Harrison's apt and we're about to have dinner. Then, I'm going to bake. Fun!

Anyway, Harrison wants to ask me questions about the Rick Warren choice and whatnot. Lots of interesting convo to come... I'm looking forward to this coming week!

Clem signed me up to help on a volunteer project with her on Monday, and Charlotte wants me to be there tomorrow for the big concert... We'll see. All I know is that I'm excited!!!

De-stressing...

Ok so although I've spent over 12 hrs of today traveling (double the 6 hrs it would have been had I MADE my flight), I'm less stressed and more excited now. I'm on an amtrak train to NYC to spend a few days with one of my BFFs, Mychael, before we head to DC on Monday. Although the bus is cheaper, the train is fun! It was he'll trying to figure everything out though. Luckily, the ticket agent and the conductor/crew members I talked to were very helpful and friendly.

Haha this is all so strange and new to me, but I love it. It's sort of "Gossip Girl"... (season 1, ep 1 Serena arrives at the train station back in NY!)

Anyway, this should be a fun week. The Victoria Advocate is supposed to be calling me again in the evenings. I'll be back on Thursday night. Try to keep up!
